Disenchanted

Aku tension la jgak ni.. hehe... Biasa nya meeting aku wat spontan.. pastu kli ni aku wat skrip utk group aku.. last2 x jd plak meeting tu.. nk wat cmne.. its ok... aku juz nk post skrip yg aku wat tu la... hehe

Ros: Good evening all and sundry. I hope that you are alive and kicking. There are a lot of ways that you could do for spending the day; I want to thank all of you for coming to our meeting today. I see that all the members have gathered here. Let’s start the meeting. Wani is our secretary, could you please introduce our members.
Wani: (Introducing participants). Let’s hark back to chairperson.
Ros: Thanks wani for a warm welcome. So, our bare outline today is about poster or brochure to promote our program. We need to come out with either poster or brochure to promote our Green Finger Program for the Earth Day Project. OK, which one do you think is better idea?
Sharon and Fiza: Poster
Faressa: Brochure… I think…
Ros: It seems that we have different views from the members. It would be fair if we put this into vote. Then we can discuss our next step. Let’s start with brochure… Who agree that we use brochure as our medium to promote our activity...
(Nobody raises hand)
Ros: Faressa, I heard that you said brochure just now. Do you?
Faressa: Sorry, it’s not actually my brainchild. I just blurted…
Fiza: Chairperson… I think we can have a go at the poster because this method is cut above than the brochure in different facet.
Flora: Yes… If we proceed with poster, we do not squandering by printing brochure and distribute to people or drop it in the mail box. Well, a picture tells a thousand words right?
Ros: Im crystal clear with your point. Above all, we need a volunteer that can design that poster. The items that need to be included in our poster as follows: Wani, please take note.
1.      Title of our program
2.      Date
3.      Time
4.      Venue
5.      Company’s logo
6.      Prizes
a.      The first prize will be awarded RM1000
b.      Second prize  is RM500
c.       Third prize is RM300
7.      Fee is RM20

Did anyone want to help?

Faressa: I can give you a hand. I am glad to help you. I can create 2 types of posters and we can dicuss the best one in our next meeting.

Sharon: I also can help you solving this matter. I have flair at Photoshop.

Ros: Thanks for that volunteer. Faressa, how about your task that has been assigned from last week?

Faressa: Hmm... Things happens more by accident than by the design. That company agree to sponsor us for about RM10, 000 and promote our campaign to other private company. I call this a Helping Package. It’s beyond measure.

Ros: That’s nice to hear. I’m in good odour with you. Thanks. Owh, I think of something. By and large, we need to hire some marshals that can help us to handle our Earth Day Project. Fiza, I would like to appoint you for this task. Are you ok with that?

Fiza: Okey dookey. I know a person that can help me. You can turn on me.

Ros: Before we close today’s meeting, let me summarize the main point. In a nutshell, Faressa and Sharon need to create posters and Fiza need to look for marshals. So, the next meeting will be on Monday, 30 April at 2.00pm. Thank you for attending. Do you have any questions so far?

All: nope…

Ros: So if there is no question. I declare meeting closed

My First Day ( Part 2 )

“Roooosssss”…
“Faressa”, she squeaks back.
She’s very surprise and tries to kick me. I pant and gasping for breath momentarily. My heart beats faster, Inhaling oxygen and metabolizing carbon dioxide. We are jumping up and down and laughing. The sweats drip down on my neck. I can feel the cool sensation as the wind blowing to my neck, evaporating my sweats. The happiness sweeps through me. You know what happen when I see them; I need to fight down the urge to reach out and hug them inside me. It has been a month since our last meeting. I miss you friends. For some reason, I am very happy, a warm and bright feeling lodge in my heart’s core.
We walk together cheek by jowl to Web Technology Lab on the third floor. I need to enter four-digit-code before entering the lab, the unsecured password. I push the door and fix my sight at the corner of lab, near the windows. I shocked with the power of air conditioning. We sit together, circling around a computer. I can hear the air conditioner humming just above my head. For a second, we are just staring at each other and then smile. I just grin all the time.
‘Hows the holiday’, I start the conversation.
I make some jokes. I am completely flabbergasted, seeing that Sharon burst into laughing. She laughs hysterically. Her lips revealing her white canine and first premolar shine like pearl. I havent seen her in this circumtances before, miraculously. I pause a while, waiting for her. She looks cheerful. I carve a big smile for her.
Other classmates also busy with their own group. We are talking about the semester’s break while bursting out with laughter. It is good to be with friends. I relish every moments spend with them. A thing of beauty is a joy for ever. Their miracle smile can ease off dolorous inside me. Makes my day brighter and even gloom without them. The environment is dense with echo of laughing, drumming my ears. I have a great feeling of déjà vu, redolent me when I was in primary school and college. My first day such a disappointment, no lectures; the classes in lab is cancelled for the whole week. But we’re still waiting patiently, having a long chit chat with friends.
Suddenly, Ros pops out a question about deciding a major.
‘Network.’ I blurt then followed by an enigmatic smile.
I haven’t thinking about my major yet, irresolute. It is hard to choose for the best road that can lead to a better future, a binary choice. Her question redolent of a poem when I was in form 5, The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. Which is one of my favourite poems, other than ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling and ‘Sonnet 18’ by William Shakespeare. My conscience is more to software engineering. A dreadful course that everybody is afraid to lean their fate on it. A senior told me that this major is killing. It’s like a crossing a death pit with the blaze of fire be kindled underneath and a brobdingnagian monster waiting to swallow you at the other end, with ferocious look.
I feel something incomplete, yes, there are two persons that have not make their way here yet. Fiza and Wani. I met Fiza since our orientation week, she’s same group with me. She posses a face as white as milk, as soft as cotton and enchanting eyes.  Wani is my friend since in college, she knows me for about 4 years. She is a kind hearted, perspicacious and magnanimous person. She scored well in the last semester. They are my alpha and omega. We are in pretty good camaraderie, like being stitched together.
‘Are you hungry? Let’s eat.’ Sharon utter abruptly in the middle of conversation, signaling us that she is very hungry.
It’s been an hour here, we are hungry but yet we need to wait for Wani.
